Opal Inkwell: Editing and Page Design
Opal Inkwell was designed to be a place of support for the creative journey. We can be there for any and every part of the creative process from Alpha and Beta reading to typesetting and page design. Our biggest goal as an editor is to build bridges between the author and their readers, the readers and the characters they need in their lives, the drafts and the masterpieces that are living within a creative project. To do that, we want to get to know you and your project, to know your voice and writing style, to know your goals, and to provide connections and advice that will help you on your way. Whether you want to self-publish, go through a major publishing company, or simply compile a family project, we want to help bring your dreams into fruition.
Meet the Editor: LaRea Ericksen
I can still remember the day I presented my first work of fiction to my sixth grade class. I’m sure my voice trembled as I read to my classmates and prayed that they would like it. This experience forever change my life and made it clear that I simply couldn’t live without writing. I needed to experience worlds other than my own, whether I or others created those worlds. I dove into the written word and have refused to leave it ever since!
As a passionate and imaginative editor and writer, I love to immerse myself in the the ingenuity and imagination of the written word. My mission is to empower you in your creative journey and to protect your vision through compassionate and detailed editing and quality work at every step of the way. As a publisher and published writer who has had experience with every part of the creative and publication process, I’m always excited to meet fellow creators and, in my invisible way, help them to make their projects as perfect as they can be. I am a constant creator who strives continuously to maintain my knowledge of current grammar rules, professional standards of page design, and friendships with others in the writing, publishing, and printing fields. Protecting a creator’s vision is my top priority, and I will go to great lengths to ensure that vision is understood and carried out. Whatever your creative and publication journey looks like, I wants to empower and assist you on that journey!
